Top 20 Movies: NOT…
Well, I’ve gotten down to #7 and I’ve just decided that I’m done. I was reading a blog by Lance and it helped me to realize that doing this list stuff is a waste of time. This blog should be used as a way to express myself and my thoughts and feelings, not telling you that this movie or that movie was good. So, I’m done with this review stuff. To most it’s not a big deal, as I’ve seen my views die, even as I reach the end of my list. But in case anyone was wondering. Here is the remaining 7 on the list, obviously starting with #1:
- Braveheart
- Pan’s Labyrinth
- Saving Private Ryan
- Tombstone
- Gladiator
- Cinderella Man
- The Lion King
So after that, I would like to begin blogging again.
So, now that that is finished on to more things. I met with pastor Hall this morning for what turned out to be quite the informational meeting. We both discussed how church leaders can be “too nice.” Many people in leadership positions in the church seem to be afraid to take control of things as they should. Why shouldn’t someone be asked to step down from the worship team, if they are a distraction to the congregation. I just feel that too often do we hold our tongues because we’re afraid to hurt someone. If something needs to be said I believe that it should be said. Now I say that to say this: we have to be careful about how we say whatever it is that we want to. We can’t just go off saying something without any sort of explanation of ourselves. We also have to make sure that we don’t confront someone in front of people who aren’t involved. I made that mistake last week in worship practice and it made things a bit awkward. And I wasn’t trying to be mean by saying what I said, but it came out that way.
On another note, I get to play bass at family camp this summer which I am totally excited about. I also get to be a counselor for the youth which is going to be awesome. This will be the first time that I get to stay at family camp for the whole week and I’m totally excited.
